SEARCHING FOR SILVERHEELS tells the story of Pearl Rose Barnell, a romantic soul, awakening in the harsh realities of 1917. The rising tide of women’s suffrage, the early days of World War I, accusations of “un-American behavior,” and the picturesque history of a small Colorado mining town come together in the Silverheels Cafe, where thireen-year-old Pearl waits tables and awaits her destiny.
